28/01/12 | January 2013 has seen weekly rises in the prices we're being charged for solar PV panels and inverters due largely to a 6% fall in the EURO to GBP exchange rate over the last 3 weeks.

Leeds Solar are currently reviewing our installed prices to take account of these recent equipment price rises. We would advise anyone thinking about ordering a solar system to please place your order as soon as possible before we have to put our installation prices up.

Special offer prices apply to installations within 25 miles of the Leeds Solar office, for single roof installations on up to 2 storey buildings.
The Feed In Tariff (FIT) scheme is a government backed scheme to support the growth of the solar PV market via a 20 year subsidy for solar PV system owners.
The scheme is subject to periodic cuts, and a 3.5% FIT cut is scheduled for 1st July 2013.
Until then the FIT rate will remain at 15.44p per kWh FIT + 4.64p export rate for under 4kWp instalaltions.

Roughly 80% of all domestic properties are capable of meeting the new Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band D requirements for claiming the higher FIT rates, once a solar PV system is installed together with a few low cost energy efficiency measures.
Leeds Solar produce an EPC as standard during our solar PV quote process, and if necessary will produce an additional package of low cost energy efficiency measures to bring your building up to the band D EPC rating.
