Shading Assessments
If the location for your planned PV array has trees, chimneys, dormer windows, tall buildings next door, or other features that may shade the system either now or in the future this can have a major impact on the performance of the system.
In these situations the standard SAP2005 method of assessing the performance of the system isn't particularly accurate, and we'd strongly recommend that you ask us to produce a proper Shading Impact Assessment for you so that you can accurately assess the implications of this shading for the long term financial returns from the system.
Key Features
- £250 upfront cost. A full detailed 3D shading model and shading impact assessment produced by Leeds Solar will usually only cost you £250 + VAT
- Full rebate. If you then decide to go ahead with purchasing a solar system from Leeds Solar we'll refund the price of the shading impact assessment from your final bill.
- Performance guarantee. In shaded situations our performance guarantee only applies if you've taken up the offer of a full shading impact assessment in advance of receiving a quote.
3D Shading Model. We produce a personalised 3D model of your house with different PV array options in position, plus any potential causes of shading. We then use this to model the impact of shading on the PV arrays through the day for each month of the year. We will also use this stage of the process to modify the design of the system in order to minimise the impact of the shading on the annual performance of the system. We can even model the long term impact of trees growing, or planned future developments.
Monthly and annual average generation estimates. The monthly shading impact data is then combined with average monthly solar data for your location to produce an accurate assessment of the electricity you can expect to generate each month once the shading is taken into account.
