Commercial solar panel installations across Yorkshire by Leeds Solar.
Here are a few examples of the hundreds of non-domestic solar panel installations Leeds Solar have carried out over the last 15 years on sites including factories, industrial sites, warehouses, schools, colleges, offices, high rise buildings, sports clubs, community centres, working mens clubs, museums, markets, hospitals, Council buildings, and youth detention centres.
LMS Services trapezoidal metal factory roof solar panel installation
Leeds Solar installed 488 European manufactured solar panels fitted to the trapezoidal metal roof of LMA services new extension in Pocklington, Yorkshire.
Darley Street Markets, Bradford
168 solar panels designed and installed by Leeds Solar's team across 6 roof faces of the prestigious new Darley Street Market building in Bradford.Specialist Nicholson fixings fixed to the glue laminate beams, with a post through the rockwool insulation, then hot-welded cover to the single ply membrane to support the framework above.
The solar installation was paired with an SMA core 1 50KW inverter with 6 MPPT inputs and SMA Shadefix technology used to mitigate the shading from the surrounding roof elements.

Provence House, Pocklington, 510 solar panels installed to a tiled roof
510 all black panels installed across 6 tiled roof faces of Provence House care home, part of the Lavender Fields development outside Pocklington, North Yorkshire. This is a 209kWp East / West split system connected to a 110kW SMA Core 2 inverter to maximise the generation potential from the roof within the grid connection limits imposed for the site.
Wooltex Spinning Company, Huddersfield
After Leeds Solar installed 50kWp of panels on their original Factory in 2012, it was a pleasure to be part of Wooltex growth by installing a 765 panel 386kWp solar PV system across multiple metal and flat roofs of their new Huddersfield factory. The solar installation is connected via a pair of SMA Core 1 110kW inverters with all 12 MPPT trackers on each inverter used to maximise the generation potential from the 220kW grid connection permission for the site.
The National Railway Museum, York
Leeds Solar were honoured to be selected to design and install a 265kWp solar PV installation across the roof on the National Railway Museum's Station Hall redevelopment. This project featured exacting design and installation standards, with 19 separate solar panel arrays across 4 roof faces required to be in perfect alignment, all external tray work to be powder coated to a specific RAL number to blend in with the roof, and all arrays and electrical connections to be safely accessible for future safe cleaning and maintenance access iun accordance with CDM regulations.
The solar panel arrays were paired with 200kW of 3 phase Solis inverters, which are wired in to provide a signficant proportion of the Museum's electrical demand.
Tomrods Steelworks, Thirsk
Our team installed 730 solar panels across 2 south facing trapezoidal metal roof faces, as well as a vertically mounted section of panels fitted to the South facing wall of Tomrods Steelworks in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. The vertically mounted panels are winter optimised, giving double the winter generation per kWp of the roof mounted panels to maximise the overall generation possible across the year within the 150kW grid connection limit for the site. This installation is connected using 3 x SMA core 1 50kW inverters with 6 x MPPT inputs use to balance the generation across the arrays.
Castleford College
A 154 solar panel, 70kWp solar PV array installed using Van Der Valk low ballast, zero penetration flat roof mounting system across the single ply membrane roof of the new Construction Skills Centre building at Castleford College. The installation is being carried out during the construction phase of the building with Leeds Solar acting as the specialist sub-contractor to the electrical contractor for this installation.
Walsden Cricket Club
26 solar panels were installed using A frames on the roof of the stand and changing rooms of Walsden Cricket Club. A wire mesh was also installed to protect the panels from high flying cricket balls. This installation included a 12kW 3 phase Solax IES hybrid inverter and 20kWh of LFP batteries to enable the site to use as much of the generation within the cricket club buildings as possible. An SFS mansafe system was also installed to allow for safe access to the panels for future access and maintenance.

Leeds Jewish Housing Association
Leeds Solar worked as specialist subcontractors to the developers to design and install a 314 solar panel, 110kWp solar PV installation across 4 standing seam roof faces of the new Queenshill assisted living blocks, for Leeds Jewish Housing Association. The system was split into 2 parts, with 1 x SMA Core 1 50kW 3 phase inverter installed in each block.

Joseph Rowntree School, York
Over the 2025 summer holidays, Leeds Solar's team worked to complete the installation of a 349 solar panel, 159kWp solar PV installation across 2 large flat roofs of Joseph Rowntree School in York. The installation was completed to meet the strict deadlines for reopening prior to the school term restarting.LMA services solar PV installation on a trapezoidal metal roof
