A 250kWp solar pv system installed on the east and west roof faces of Team Impression's Printing premises. With their energy usage regularly exceeding 200kW, the solar PV system we installed in August 2015 has had a huge impact on running costs. Self-consumption is 100% for 6 days of the week, meaning almost all of the energy produced is consumed on-site and contributes to energy savings.
The panels feed into 8 SMA three-phase 25kW inverters which integrate with SMA's online monitoring system, Sunny Portal. We have also installed SMA's smart energy meter, so energy consumption and solar generation can be compared in real-time.

176 x SolarWorld MonoBlack 250Wp solar PV panels mounted on 2 south south east facing roof faces at approximately 40 degree pitch, in 4 landscape rows of 22 panels per string per roof / inverter. The arrays suffer from winter and early morning / late afternoon shading to the lower string of panels, mitigated by placing the lower strings on input B to be tracked independently and using the Optitrac Global Peak function set to carry out a full voltage scan every 6 minutes.

After careful analysis of the roof pitch & orientation, the inverters chosen were 2 x 12kW AC output inverters, which maximises the efficiency of the system throughout the year, and monitoring indicates only very rarely restricts the output from the system.
